Examination - DTZ - German test for immigrants A2-B1

  • The German test for immigrants A2•B1 (or DTZ for short) is a final exam for the integration courses of the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF).
  • This test is carried out by g.a.s.t. e.V. carried out.
  • As an approved examination center of the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF), we carry out the integration course test "German test for immigrants" and the naturalization test / orientation course test "Life in Germany".
  • From January 1st, 2023, you may only take the exam if you have a BAMF identification number/file number/PKZ or have attended an integration course (1 module) for at least 100 hours.
  • The "German test for immigrants" (DTZ) consists of a written and an oral test.
  • At the end you will receive a certificate that certifies your overall language skills at level B1 or A2. If your language skills are below level A2, you will not receive a certificate, just a notification of your result.
  • The DTZ certificates are sent to us about four weeks after the test and are then ready for collection.

Test ""Living in Germany""

  • The naturalization test or “Living in Germany” test is carried out on behalf of the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF).
  • The "Living in Germany" test takes place after an orientation course on a separate date.
  • You can prepare for the naturalization test or the "Living in Germany" Test by interactively completing the questionnaire in the BAMF's online test center.
